campaign for comment, but they did not return our calls. the obama administration has proposed revising estate planning rules. and one option would be ending this tax benefit. >> it would affect estate planning as we know it. this is something that is commonly done day in and day out and has been for many years. >> that liberal group americans for tax fairness action fund is now calling on release his gift tax returns. that will show more details on how much the couple gifted to their children and grandchildren over the years and how much they paid in taxes, wolf. >> lisa, thanks very much. >>> and you're in "the situation room." happening now, the israeli prime minister draws a chilling red line for iran at the united nations. does it mean military action is imminent? i'll ask the israeli ambassador to the united states this hour. also, syrian rebels scoring new victories on the battlefield thanks possibly to help from expats living right here in the united states. and a new twist in one of america's greatest unsolved mysteries. will drilling into a driveway finally uncover the remains
policy wise? >> the obama administration has never had a foreign policy. bill, he's only had this assortment of confused, naive initiatives poisoned by ideology, deformed by politic, driven by politics, and the only thing these initiatives in the foreign affairs realm have had in common has been their failure. if you look from benghazi to beijing, in this afro-asian realm of crisis, there is not one troubled country, not one, not russia, not china, certainly not iran, afghanistan, pakistan, certainly not israel, not one country in which relations are healthier or more constructive than under george w. bush, and that was a pretty low standard. >> bill: what do you say, colonel hunt? >> i think the specificity of the policy when you look at libya in which we wanted a lower american profile with the weakest profile we've had security since 1979 first ambassador we had killed failed. in afghanistan issues we have people training, killing us. that is not -- and the surge was supposed to crush the taliban. the commander on the ground reports says the taliban is back. he talked abou
that will say in the first two years of the obama administration, there was democratic control of both houses of congress, and the president had a hard time getting his legislative agenda passed. caller: it's because the filibuster in the senate, i mean, when you need 60 votes and the democrats only had 59, so he had a hard time getting even healthcare through. host: all right, paul, we're going to move to andy on our line from independents, calling from florida. caller: sorry, i'm calling from south carolina. host: ok, andy is calling from south carolina where. in south carolina, andy? caller: columbia. host: ok. are you in favor of divided government or one party? caller: well, i'm not so sure i'm in favor of either one, unless -- except if divided government is going to give us what it's given us now and nothing gets done, nothing gets passed. we got a credit rating downgraded because one party says my way or the highway. that's not good governance. it's not -- there's no such thing as my way or the highway. we all have to compromise, you know, in a marriage, the husband doesn't get everyt
to provide for themselves and their families. i think that is why the obama administration's objective is essentially using bread and circuses to make as many people as possible dependent on government, to keep voting democratic, is not succeeding. americans want to stand on their own feet. >> that is the craziest thing i ever heard of my life. you are accusing the president of united states of using a government program to manipulate people do not get a job, to be dependent on the government for services? impressed. we are a few minutes and -- >> let me finish. pressed we're a few minutes and and you have now three times call me crazy on observing that the president has expanded government dependency. >> you are saying he is manipulating american civil democratic. -- so they will vote democratic. >> let's talk about the issue of benefits. in 1960, 20% -- of federal spending went to individual spent -- payments. this year, 65% of federal spending goes to individual payments. i would suggest we do have a problem with government -- >> we had a downturn in the economy. we of hard times, p
. the obama administration is standing in a way of what could be a promising explosion of energy. we have so much oil and gas because of new technology that we know how to get without harming the environment. this puts people to work and creates manufacturing jobs. it lowers gas prices. it lowers the cost to heat your home in the winter, to cool it in the summer, the electricity we pay. that means your paycheck goes farther. people living on fixed income have more income to live on. this is important. with an energy policy like the keystone pipeline, opening our land for development, we can stop sending our money to the middle east. it helps our economy and paychecks. [applause] another area -- we have all these people in between jobs. for every person who got a job last month, nearly four people stopped looking for a job. we are slipping behind. what we see when we look at the faces, talk to the people, see the names, it is a person in their 30's, 40's, 50's, early 60's. i will get to the person in their 20's in a minute. it is a person who came out of school, got a career, got a good job a
$200,000. so then i called him later and said what is going on here? apparently the obama administration called clinton's people and basically sevilla, you're not on the narrative. you need to go out and take that statement that. it was a pretty big brouhaha over the situation, but i think it's pretty clear what country were bill clinton stands. he thinks everything should be extended even though right now during political football and 40 days out of the election i don't think a repeat debra now. >> host: maria bartiromo, when you have that interview and follow-up to that interview, is it tough to get a second interview with him? >> guest: absolutely. i think right now the president is not going to even go down the road and talk about the taxation because he doesn't want to make any mistakes. one thing about bill clinton is he says that he feels for the most part. and so, he won't come out and say something to your face that he really doesn't believe. so he's avoiding that conversation right now. >> host: stillwater, oklahoma, please go ahead with your question. >> caller:
of criticism regarding the current administration, but there are some good decisions. and the decision to eliminate osama bin laden, i think it was leadership in action when president obama decided to kill osama bin laden. and he did the right thing ordering the troops to do it. but 24 hours later there was one leader that condemned the u.s. for killing one of the greatest leader. do you know who was that leader which condemned the americans? it was the leader of the hamas organization in gaza. he was the only one who say i'm condemning the u.s. for killing a great hero of the arab nation. and on the other end, while sending the troops to kill osama bin laden, the american administration is pressuring israel to sit down and negotiate. but with whom? with the same people who praised osama bin laden? with the same people who teach and incite against jews every day? that is why i think that if we need to get to a point after which we have a decision, we cannot allow the palestinian state. also i don't know how many of you have been to israel, but to get from my hotel to here is almost cro
